'Wabi Sabi' embodies the art of living in the present, embracing the power of imperfection and incompleteness. In this spirit (to the best of my ability and with due respect), I, along with the owner, crafted this charming cottage. What began with gently curved windows salvaged from a 1920s school building culminated in the incorporation of beautifully adorned lead strips as decorative fascia, second-hand roof panels from Aalsmeer, and stained glass windows sourced from thrift stores. Additionally, we repurposed a wall cabinet from the historic city center to adorn the area above the semi-circular doors. This project was an inspiring and playful endeavor set in a truly enchanting location. Or, as one neighbor aptly remarked, "It's like a sort of spaceship" ...?
